Woodbine Entertainment Group and the Central Ontario Standardbred Association today announced there will be a $100,000 guaranteed early Pick 4 pool on the Saturday, April 2 Standardbred card at Woodbine
.
A $75,000 guaranteed early Pick 4 will also be offered on the following Saturday nights in April: 9, 16, 23, 30.
"The Pick 4 is one of harness racing's most popular wagers and ensuring guaranteed pools has shown to be very attractive with customers," said Jamie Martin, WEG's executive vice president of Racing on behalf of the WEG-COSA partnership. "There has been steady growth since guaranteeing the early Pick 4 pools last year, so we hope customers will continue to see good value. We'll look at further enhancements if this proves successful."
The increased guarantees are expected to get off to a good start as the feature on Saturday, April 2 is the $125,000 Spring Pacing Championship, the crown jewel of the Woodbine spring meet.
A $50,000 guaranteed early Pick 4 will continue on Monday evenings as will the $40,000 minimum pots on the other race nights.
